We are very excited to continue and grow our partnership with Uncommon Basketball in order to help under-recruited high school basketball players across the country. Varsity Hype and Uncommon Founder/CEO, Coach Vanlandingham, share the same vision of Leveling the Playing Field/Court for those student/athletes looking to continue their dream of playing basketball at the next level.

As organizations we both realize that the system is broken and most players are not noticed by the ranking committees or any of the popular websites that may lead to offers. We have created a partnership to attack this issue and get student athletes worthy of playing at the next level, noticed by NCAA D2, NCAA D3, NAIA, and NJCAA programs.

Like Varsity Hype, Coach Vanlandingham has a unique approach and the ability to provide a level of attention to the student athletes that aligns with our mission and vision. We truly believe in his formula and the hands-on approach his organization takes to make sure each one of the talented players succeed. Our partnership brings our expertise in technology and scalability and UnCommon Basketball’s 30 years of experience in the space.

Our programs will utilize the UnCommon Basketball approach and the Varsity Hype ecosystem to build solutions for student athletes at each level attempting to play basketball in college. Our winning formula brings the Varsity Hype ecosystem, our student athlete profiles, verified data, and the UnCommon Basketball system, evaluations, camps, and matchmaking formula all in one place for the student athlete to succeed in his journey.

About UnCommon Basketball and The UnCommon Approach

Our mission statement at Uncommon Basketball is to be the leader in the Recruiting Industry for matching under recruited prospects with college potential to college programs that fit until we secure the highest potential offer. There are plenty of options for scouts to find the top ranked players that a majority of coaches already have on their recruiting boards, and 100’s of recruiting services selling a dream with no true assessment of where the athlete stands and what he must do moving forward to get recruited.

The Uncommon Approach begins with evaluating the prospect at a UCExposure Camp staffed with current college coaches, or using the game film template to assess a High School prospect seeking genuine help with their recruitment. Either way all clients must be evaluated by college coaches first to enroll in the program and get a Recruiting Game Plan created. The formula for discovering college potential, assessing strengths and weaknesses, and building a custom Recruiting Game Plan tailored to the individual that promotes prospects as they progress has led to 100’s of offers for players not on obvious rankings since 2019. Our mission with UCExposure is not to sell a dream, but make the dream a reality by showcasing strengths and avoiding areas that expose players to the wrong levels at the wrong time.
